Who Cares Committee

Since the inception of the “Who Cares Committee Inc.” we have dedicated ourselves to raising money on the behalf of the disabled children of Long Island. To accomplish this we conduct fund raising events throughout the year such as B-B-Qs and Toy Collections for the Holidays. Our events are sanctioned and insured by the AMA (American Motorcycle Association).

Over the years we have donated the proceeds of these events to organizations such as the St. Christopher-Ottillie Residential Treatment Center, the Guide Dog Foundation, the Make a Wish Foundation, St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, the Sarah Grace Foundation for Children with Cancer, The Juvenile Diabetes Foundation and other children with disabilities. Our membership and supporters have voluntarily given their time, labor and money in the true spirit in which this committee was formed. For the 23rd consecutive year we are setting aside a Sunday, December 14th, to collect toys for the St. Christopher-Ottillie Residential Treatment Center in Sea Cliff. This event has become known as the “St. Chris Toy Run” and is supported by hundreds of motorcyclists from the Long Island area and abroad gathers to help those who have so little; we are expecting 700 to 1500 this year.

On this Sunday our supporters brave the elements of December to ride collectively, regardless of the weather, to bring the children of St. Christopher’s the joy of the holidays. For many of these children, the only holiday celebration they will have this year will be a convoy of Motorcycles, cars, and trucks escorting our Santa to share the Joy of the Holidays.
